Dekalb Regional Medical Center is located in Fort Payne near the intersection of I-59 and Hwy 35. Constructed in the early 1980s to accommodate 140 beds, it has continually undergone renovation and revision to meet changing community needs. With the modernization of the pediatric and obstetrical units, addition of a geriatric unit, and shifting to a greater number of private rooms, the current capacity is about 80 beds. Full time ER coverage and “hospitalist” services are available. Dialysis, radiation therapy, CT, and MRI are a few of the services provided in the community.
