Community

DeKalb County (population approx. 55,000) is located in extreme northeast Alabama, and is one of the most densely populated rural areas in America. Fort Payne and Rainsville (only seven miles apart) are the two largest communities with populations of about 15,000 and 12,000 respectively. There are numerous other small communities in the service area. The city and county school systems are excellent with plenty of friendly rivalry. Several colleges and junior colleges are within commuting distance. Churches play an important role in community life here.
